Highway, the pit bull next door

This is Highway. He's the pit bull that lives in the house to the left of mine (two pit bulls live to my right). He's a cool white color with a sweet disposition. Here, he's exploiting a defect in the fence to peek at Mojo.

6 year-old's diary entry

This one is too good to pass up posting. I was loading all my images onto my Drobo and I came across this scan of my daughter's diary entry from when she was 6. She writes about her work and her brother, David. I love it!

Pit bull kisses

He's in a kissing mood, today. Always quite the lover, if your face gets too close to his, he'll kiss you to death.

Lounging on a Sunday

It's a lazy Sunday around here and my pit bull, Mojo, is taking full advantage.

NEWS FLASH: Pit Bull Sleeps Us to Death

I was laying on my futon this morning with my dog laying at my feet. When my daughter got up, she came onto the futon and over the course of about 15 minutes, Mojo slowly snuggled his way up onto her where they both got about another hour's sleep while I lay there with my outstretched arm trying to get a picture in a darkened room.

When she woke up, my daughter commented that he was trying to "sleep us to death".

Lucy The Elephant in Jellybeans

Here's a replica of Margate, NJ's Lucy The Elephant made out of jellybeans. It was weird enough for me to want to post it. I don't know what flavor they are, but, they look mostly grape to me.

PS3-Very "Minority Report"-ish

We just got ourselves a Sony PS3 eye-cam and bought the game "Operation Creature Feature". It's a cutsey sort of game that's controlled in a very "Minority Report"-ish kind of way by flailing all around with your arms to control the action. Overall, pretty cool for a $5 download.

Cat in a pit bull den

Here's my daughter's cat. It usually doesn't live here, but, it's here for a couple of weeks. So far, they're getting along really well. Actually, a couple of quick swats on his nose and Mojo just left
her alone. Let's hope it stays this way.

The Comb-Over Graveyard

These bushes, shrubs, marsh grass or whatever you want to call them were spotted outside the hospital in Atlantic City. These things look like they're part of a giant hair transplant farm or something. After some thought, considering they're outside a hospital, I decided they're part of the "comb-over graveyard". They're just begging to be photoshopped! Somebody, please, do something with them and shoot me a link.

Atlantic City Shoreline

Here's a quick shot I took of the Atlantic City shoreline from the
pier across from Caesars casino. The iPhone camera doesn't do too bad
when it's really bright out.

Probably the nicest iPhone pic I ever took

This has to be my favorite picture I've ever taken with the iphone. It was take at the water fountain display at Caesars Casino in Atlantic City. That camera is really hit or miss, but, when the light just happens to be right, it works out great.

While we were there, I stopped at the Apple store and checked out the Macbook Air. Yes, it has its limitations, but, there's no denying that it's very thin and very cool!

Nice night for a fire

A few weeks ago, we had a big windstorm that knocked down a ton of dry wood. I thought tonight would be a good time to enjoy the clear sky and cool temps to burn some of it out in he backyard pit. One of my favorite things to do when I'm stressed is to hang out in the backyard with a fire going. Good thing I have a big backyard!

A basket of driveway lights

I was getting ready to install all these cool solar LED driveway lights and when I went from the living room to the darkened hallway, they all turned on. It looked way cooler in real life as the iphone camera made its attempt to color balance the scene to white and totally negated the beautiful soft yellow glow of the lights. I figured, aw, what the heck. I'll post it anyway.

Now hopefully, someone with the iPhone SDK will come along and whip up a more robust application for the camera. One that includes ISO, shutter speed, color balance and a self-timer. I can always hope, right. I'd try it myself but I don't have a Macbook yet.

Spoiled pit bull

Here's my pit bull, Mojo, still asleep long after I got up. He's a lot like me-up late at night, sleeps late in the morning/ early afternoon.

Nuthin Like a Big Pit Bull on a Cold Night

My pit bull's preferred place to sleep is under my legs as a kind of heated foot stool. On a cold night, it's a good thing.

Mojo Chillin'

He loves-I mean LOVES chewing on bones. Actually, on pretty much anything and everything I let him. He has destroyed in 20 minutes toys that my previous dog had his whole life. Sheesh. He's a life support system for a set of teeth!

Pit Bull Drums

Here's Mojo getting petted with rhythm! He seems to love getting patted on his side like drums and he has a chest like a kettle drum. It's awesome.

Drobo comes packed like an iPod!

Here's what I saw when I opened up the Drobo box. It definitely has a cool OOB experience to it. Setup took me about 3 minutes, taking longer to decide where to put it than to install the 3 hard drives I'm using. I started out with a 250gb and two 500gb drives. It's definitely not fast, but, as a photographer, having all my photos online and redundantly stored is *way* worth the speed hit.

Upside down, big head

Here's Mojo getting his belly scratched. I sort of got used to his size so it doesn't usually catch my attention. This shot, though, emphasizes his head big time-I took notice! Still, he's a sweetie,
even though he might not look that way to those that don't know him. He's a typical pit bull-a lover.

Advertising on the moon!???

I was driving to work today and I passed this billboard. I know it's
hard to read (I had to drive at the same time I took the picture), but
it says "Moonvertising" is coming. Apparently, these people claim to
be planning on projecting ads onto tv next full moon using lasers.
Sounds like an interesting experiment, but, I would hate to have it
become common. What could be worse than going out to the beach with
your sweetheart, looking up, and seeing "Rolling Rock" plastered all
over the moon. No thank you!

Pit bull pillow

Here's Mojo chewing on his bone and being a pillow. He loves to
snuggle so making a pillow out of him while he's chewing on his bone
is fine with him - he gets a two-for-one, bone plus snuggle=happy dog.

Happy meal

Here's an Old Country Buffet "Happy Meal" that I made out of the
leftovers on her plate. Yes-I was quite bored!

Free Health Spa Treatment

Here, she's getting Old Country Buffett's Friday night free health spa treatment. It was an unadvertised special. She grabbed the cucumbers and did a treatment right at the table.

Big Bed Warmer & Stealth Self-Defense Device

Here's my pit bull, Mojo. These are his "bedroom eyes". He like to sleep beside me on the futon - and he really prefers to be under the covers rather than on top of them. On a cold night, it's not too bad.

If anyone ever broke in, I wouldn't have to look far to find something to use to defend myself! Here are some of the benefits of having a pit bull.

He has the following features:
- Voice activated
- Instant on,
- Choice of lethal or non-lethal deployment
- Unlimited ammo
- Low-cost to operate :)
- And...much much more

Weird sleeping arrangements

Here's Mojo in another of his unique, unexpected and just plain weird pit bull sleeping positions. This dog can sleep anywhere! He half slid off the couch in his sleep and stayed halfway off, still alseep for about 20 minutes. Weird, weird dog!

I'm updating my Pleo's OS

I just downloaded LifeOS v1.0.2 which supposedly updates my little robotic dinosaur's operating system to have improved use of his senses. I can't wait to see how it goes!
