Obligatory cat picture

I'm not much of a cat person. In fact, I'm quite allergic to them. This cat climbed up onto my leg just before I took this picture and its claws poked my leg through my jeans. Those places swelled up like bug bites.

In any case, being the photographer that I am, I took a picture of him. Scraggly, but, still cute in a cat sort of way. That's about all the gushing I can do since I'm a dog person.

Cool/Scary FAA Display of Aloha Flight 243

It's coming up on the 50th anniversary of the FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center (WJHTC) so they're setting up all sorts of informative displays around the place. I spotted this display on my way back from the cafeteria.

It's as interesting as it is chilling to me. It's detailed and facinating to look at until it starts to sink in that it's not just a model made by a hobbyist for fun. It's a carefully constructed recreation of what must have been a horrifying flight.

Steve Jobs reality distortion field in action

Here's a picture of my daughter. It was taken with my iphone as I was dodging water splashes. When I reviewed the image, I realized I captured Steve Jobs reality distortion field in action. So, cool!

Pit bull hugs

Here's my daughter and Mojo lounging together in my office. Both of
them are snugglers so they're a good match.

I sat outside Starbucks with him today. About half the people ignored
him, a few went in the side door, and a couple stopped to pet him. If
he was a lab, no one would have gone in the side door. Wussies.

iPhone Night Photo

Last night, I was walking home from my guitar lesson and I thought I'd
see how the iphone did at night shots. Not too well, if say. High
noise, but, pretty much what I'd expect from a sensor the size of a
flea.

Flight Simulator on 'roids

I spent this morning playing with our (meaning the FAA's) Beech 310 flight simulator. I'm a real pilot so this was all pretty familiar, and quite realistic.

Out front, there are 3 Dell 24" LCD panels. Inside is a whole Beech 310 panel...the real thing. There's what seems to be a 19" LCD providing the cockpit glass (HSI, etc). It takes 3 PCs to run it. The software is Microsoft Flight Simulator with terrain maps of our home airport area which is ACY. I've flown in and out of ACY more times than I can count and flying around the area in his contraption is surreal.

Pit bull nirvana

Here's Mojo laying with my daughter in the yard. He's rarely happier that when he has his ball and his favorite human companion!

Today's catch-and no we aren't going to eat it

Today, we discovered a baby bunny running all around my daughter's schoolyard. We rescued it from where it was heading, right into the parking lot. Afterwards, we found another and put it with the first back by its nest.

Iphone gen 2 thickness

I've been doing lots of reading about the gen 2 iPhone. Seems like there's some disagreement. Has anyone seen a Macbook Air? Thinner on the edges, sort of thick in the middle, but kinda hard to detect because of the thin edges.

That's all I've got. Cheers.
