Mojo found his true calling!

Mojo found his true calling, today. He's a frisbee dog, and it seems
to make him *really* happy! This picture was taken when be was
jumping to catch it from a standing start. Man, can he jump! More
pics to follow as I get 'em.

Pit Bull Lover

Here's Mojo basically sitting on the chair with his arm around David. He just loves to be next to you. Awww.

In the title of this blog, I state that this is a bunch of "mostly random posts sent from (my) iPhone". Strictly speaking, this is still true - however, in the interest of moderately full disclosure, I have to say that this image was taken with my Canon 20D DSLR and a 24-70mm f/2.8L lens. I lit the scene with a Canon 580EX flash and a Lightsphere II to diffuse it some. I'm a photographer, after all :) I had previously loaded it onto my iPhone for use as a sort of mobile photo gallery. Just today, I was looking at it and decided it would be good to post it - and ouilá. Here it is.

Mojo on my shoulder

Here's another self-portrait of me and Mojo. Pit Bulls are definitely lovers. Too bad their intense desire to please is so often taken advantage of. This is what Mojo does when the show I'm watching bores him. If it's the Discovery channel, he stays awake and watches nature
go by. The surround sound really fools him. It's funny as hell to watch his scan around the ceiling looking for the bird that he "knows" is there because he can hear it!

Self-portrait of Me and Mojo

This was taken by me. After Mojo slinked his way onto my lap, I tried to take the pic myself. It didn't meet my expectations so I handed the phone over to my son on the other end of the couch. He took the better pic of him on my lap, above. After looking back on it, this pic isn't all that bad. Is it?

Jaws, Kiara's brother

Here's Jaws. He's Kiara's brother (though, not related by blood). He's an American Staffordshire Terrier, or, an AmStaff, whereas Kiara and Mojo are American Pit Bull Terriers. They're all sweet, sweet family dogs, each with their own unique personalities.

In this pic, Jaws is patiently waiting for a treat.

Here's Kiara, Mojo's Sister

Here's a photo of Kiara, Mojo's sister. She has the most beautiful, dark, "Rudolph Valentino" eyes. She's a pit bull from the same litter as Mojo, but, they have different heads. She definitely looks like a girl (which of course, she is).

She's quite. Sweetheart!

5am Saturday Air Traffic Control Simulations

Here's a picture of an en-route air traffic control display. I'm working on testing out some new software. It's a good thing it's only a sim, because no one on their right mind is awake this early (spoken by a true non-morning person).

I have to hand it to the people that control real planes, day in, day out, all day and all night. Sims can be stressful enough. We are running real live radar in this picture, but, we aren't the ones controlling the aircraft. They're over on the other side of the airport. If something goes wrong here, we can just hit "reset".

A self-inflicted face full of snow

Here's s good one . She wanted to have a snowball fight. She lost...and won. It was with herself. So, why do I post so many photos?

Well, I'm a photographer. My best work is done with a DSLR, but, as much as people berate the iPhone camera and its lack of controls (something I don't like either), it's way better than my old Treo 650's camera, so, I'm appeased. If only the DSLR could be pocket-size.

Morning time with Mojo

I was just sitting on the couch minding my own business when Mojo decided to slink across the couch, onto my lap, then flip onto his back like a baby so I would scratch his belly. Such a suck up, this one.

Mojo invading David's personal space

Mojo's an 18 month old red-nose pit bull. If you've spent any time around pit bulls, then you already know that while they are powerful dogs, they are also the biggest babies in the dog world. They may be terriers, but, they're affection "hounds", too. He would slowly wiggle under your shirt in his sleep to get close to you if you let him.
